This was taken during one of the first concerts I photographed after I moved to Seattle from Boston.

The best part was arriving a hour or so before the doors opened to the public. Dave was jamming with the band and you could hear the acoustic guitar wafting through Key Arena since they weren't yet plugged in.

There was a certain informalness to it all, and I think that may be something that Dave Matthew's fans recognize and appreciate. He's just what he is, and cool is it.
